John E. Sarno, M.D., is a professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. He has been practicing medicine since 1950. He is the acclaimed author of three earlier books on musculoskeletal pain.

Good but redundant.

I bought both the Divided Mind and the Mind Body Prescription, at the same time....they are nearly identical so I was a bit disappointed. I thought the Divided Mind would be more of an in depth look at the same subject.

Not concise instructions on eliminating disorders

A lot of wordy sivtuff and saying needing to go back in to your past and see what triggers pain,but is not concise enough in the
treatment which is needed. Meditation is the pathway I like to take to calm and release negativity which helps to relax muscles, reduce spirit, and become in tune to your higher self .. Book just too not to the point, wanted something simple, step by step.
Do not discount the premise of the book . Think it has validity. May have another book which is more detailed on the actual process of eliminating disorders. Says go to group psychotherapy and psychotherapy.......

Read Sarno's Other Books First

I give this book five stars. It is John E. Sarno's most recent book that he has written on TMS. I jumped into it and then realized that it would be better for me to go back and read Healing Back Pain and The Mindbody Perscription in that order. So that is exactly what I did and now I feel like this book is making much more sense to me. I highly recomend this book, but after someone has read one or both of the other books by Sarno that I mentioned above.
